ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Chris Womock is a Captain with the Indianapolis Fire Department with 28 years of fire service experience. He has been with the Indianapolis Fire Department for almost 24 years, and during that time, he has served as a Lieutenant on an Engine and as part of the Fire Administration in the Special Ops Division as the Rescue Coordinator. Chris has been responsible for 15 extrication tactical teams. He is currently finishing his associates’ degree in Fire Science and is in the process of obtaining a Bachelors in Fire Administration.

Capt. Womock not only presents NAFTC’s rigorously vetted safety information, he shares his personal stories and insights about dealing with advanced technology vehicles in a way that is meaningful to other first responders like himself.

There are over 626,800 electric and hybrid vehicles on the road in the state of California, not including Clean Natural Gas (CNG), and propane, and they all require different responses in emergency situations. Attend this special First Responder training to learn how to identify and tips on handling Alternative Fuel Vehicles (AFVs) in the event of an emergency.

Free online CNG Classes at the College of the Desert

College of the Desert (COD) is offering free online training classes for CNG Technicians. They require 17 minimum participants to do the class. Registration is open to all, so please pass on to others.
The first class information flyer from Professor Anderson, who will be conducting the class, is attached.
First class: Auto 340 CNG Fundamental & Safety: This course provide lecture/discussion on compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicle safety and operation. The course is designed to introduce the service technician to safety, operation, and basic practices and procedures unique to gaseous fuel vehicles (noncredit in-class hours 36 hours). See the flyer attached for this class. Class date: November 2 - December 14, Monday and Wednesday night 6pm - 9pm PST.
The second class: Auto 340A CNG Component Function & Operation: This course provides classroom lecture/discussion and hands-on training on compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicle components function and operation. This equips technicians to better service and repair CNG vehicles. (noncredit in-class Hours - 18) - The above class Auto 340 is a prerequisite for this class. This class will be scheduled for late January - early February 2021, exact date TBD.

News on Manchester Transit Authority (MTA) on propane buses

Happy Monday, everyone!
We have an exciting article from the Granite State Clean Cities Coalition (GSCCC). In New Hampshire, the GSCCC procured 14 propane school buses. The acquisition of propane school buses allowed for significant air quality improvements and reduced petroleum usage, contributing to better air for our lungs.
